Cell phones

  1. Cell phones or other potentially transmitting devices of any sort must never touch a medical device that is connected to a patient.

  2. Cell phones must be kept at least arms length (3 feet or 1 meter) from active medical devices while in use, although they may be closer when no call is in progress.

  3. The use of cell phones may be restricted in areas where their use could be interfere with patient care. In those areas, signs will be posted and/or staff will advise you of the restriction.
